NS0003       Grey Lava Slate

Another one in our growing natural stone collection, a natural black slate with great flowing grey patterns.  The beautiful patterns look like they were formed by flowing lava, but we’re not really sure how this slate forms naturally.  I’m sure there’s a good geology or petrology website out there that can explain the formation of this slate.

This is a honed slate.  The honed appearance is created by not fully polishing the stone, instead, coarser abrasives are used to grind the surface.  Hence the surface is not as reflective or as glossy as polished stone.  Again, this must be said, natural stones always vary in colors and range of colors, so please consider that when ordering.

These are ideal for floors and can be used anywhere.  This tile also requires sealant to protect the stone over the years.
