Up today are two varieties of basalt tiles, sold in smaller 4×12 bricks.  One is a smooth, honed natural basalt and the other has a coarse, texture surface with linear grooves carved onto the stone.  Both mosaics can be used together to create unique designs.  These are made from high quality, all natural basalt stone.  They can be used to cover entire walls, or used as liners and borders.  Additionally, they can also be used on floors as liners and borders as well.

Basalt is naturally a porous stone, and if used in wet environments, they should be sealed to preserve the look.  There are sealers available that are capable of retaining the natural look as much as possible.
